Reporting to the Head of Marketing you will be responsible for setting the creative direction by leading and executing design projects and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the graphic design studio team. You will collaborate with internal teams to create innovative ways to elevate our brand and showcase our products, mentoring graphic designers, ensuring quality control and implementation of efficiencies so that all design projects are completed on time.
Responsibilities will include:
Studio Management
- Maintaining process documentation of design processes, decisions, and revisions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Allocating resources effectively, including assigning tasks to team members based on their strengths and the project’s needs.
- Leading the exploration and implementation of new design trends, technologies, and methodologies to keep the team at the forefront of the industry.
- Providing guidance and support to designers and other team members, fostering their professional growth and skill development.
Graphic Design
- Defining and driving the overall creative vision and strategy for projects, ensuring alignment with brand elevation objectives.
- Developing and executing long-term design strategies and initiatives that support organisational goals and enhance brand identity.
- Maintaining and strengthening brand identity through consistent and effective design solutions.
- Leading initiatives to evolve and refresh brand elements as needed to stay relevant and competitive in the market.
eDM & video editing
- Creating email templates and building content directly within Dotdigital to support a segmented approach.
- Use dynamic content blocks for personalisation based on data (e.g., customer type, user preferences, past interactions).
- Developing or using reusable templates for consistent branding and efficiency in future eDMs.
- Implementing tracking codes or UTM parameters to monitor link performance and measure eDM effectiveness.
- Ensuring all analytics tools can track open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and other key metrics
- Supporting our video content ambitions by creating professional, engaging, and visually appealing short form video edits.
About you:
- Degree qualified in Graphic Design
- A proven track record in a similar role
- Ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven environments
- Strong organisational and time management skills including solid attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing a team
- Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management
- Adobe Creative Suite: Advanced image editing, retouching, and manipulation; working with layers, masks, and advanced selection tools.
- Adobe Illustrator: Vector design, logo creation, and illustration; mastering paths, shapes, and typography.
- Adobe InDesign: Layout design for print and digital media; working
- Canva: UI/UX design, particularly for web and mobile app
- HTML/CSS: Understanding of basic HTML and CSS to collaborate effectively with developers and design responsive layouts.
- Optimising graphics for different platforms and media, including web optimization and print-ready file
